Raducanu explains why she has had so many coaches
Former British number one Emma Raducanu says her “provocative” and “challenging” questions could explain why she has had such a high turnover of coaches.
The 2021 US Open winner parted ways with her fifth coach in two years in June, when she and Sebastian Sachs went separate ways and has yet to confirm a new coach.
“I ask a lot of questions of my coaches,” she told BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ program. “On certain occasions they haven’t been able to keep up with the questions I’ve asked them and maybe that’s why they don’t follow through.”
The tennis player assured that “it’s something I’ve always done. I keep provoking and asking questions to the coaches and challenging their thinking as well. I’m not someone you can tell me what to do and I will do it. I need to understand why and then I will do it”.
