Yes, you heard it right, Taylor Swift’s die-hard fans are being rallied to support Watkins in his quest for the prestigious soccer accolade.
Watkins, who has had a stellar season scoring 19 goals and delivering 12 assists in 35 appearances, became the center of a social media campaign when a Villa fan and self-proclaimed Swiftie took to X to urge Taylor’s fans to back the footballer.
The tweet appealing to Swift’s fanbase highlighted Watkins’ admiration for the pop superstar, even claiming he jams to her new album #TTPD every morning.
