Breaking: Deion Sanders shows amputated foot on Good Morning America and makes Michael Strahan lose his breakfast
Someone forgot to tell Deion Sanders he was on morning television. Either that, or the Colorado football coach simply didn’t care who saw when he shocked Michael Strahan by showing off his amputated foot on Good Morning America.
“Oh, let’s not do that! This is morning TV!” Strahan said on behalf of everyone watching ABC’s flagship morning show. “People are eating breakfast, Deion, you can’t do that!”
“You mean this, with eight toes?” he said with a grin, rolling up his pants to show off his dismembered foot.
Never one to be shy in front of the cameras, Coach Prime proclaimed he was “proud of my amputation” and wanted to show that he is fighting back.
Why did Deion Sanders have his foot amputated?
Sanders, 56, spoke in the interview about how he has had 12 surgeries the past few years to address blood clots in his legs that had been causing him pain. In fact, he’s had two of his toes amputated since 2022.
Ahead of his first season with the Buffaloes, Coach Prime’s only desire was to run out onto the field with his team for his first game in Boulder. That was the motivation for two of the surgeries he got last summer, before he had to manage pain throughout the 4-8 campaign.
“I’m getting better. My health journey has been a tremendous challenge but a learning experience as well,” Sanders reflected.
As inspirational as his story may be, nobody asked for the visual evidence, certainly not over breakfast.
