SHOCKING:”Patrick Mahomes Sr. Faces Extended Jail Sentence Following Latest Arrest”x
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was reportedly ticketed for driving with a suspended license in Texas on June 29, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The news comes less than five months after his third DWI charge, also in Texas, for which he’ll begin trial later this month. Mahomes Sr. faces up to 10 years in prison for the DWI offense along with up to a $10,000 fine.
It’s not yet clear how, or if, this new citation will impact the previous case.
Documents reportedly show that Mahomes Sr. was given a warning for disregarding traffic signs in addition to the citation for driving with a suspended license, indicating he was initially stopped for a routine violation.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to begin training camp at Missouri Western State in St. Joseph, Missouri, on July 21 in search of the NFL’s first three-peat ever. A three-time Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes II remains the driving force behind the organization’s success.
The TMZ report notes that “it’s not clear if Mahomes Sr.’s license had been suspended or revoked due to his most recent DWI arrest.” A spokesperson for the Smith County Criminal District Attorney’s Office declined comment to TMZ on the ongoing situation.
While obviously not directly connected to the organization, Mahomes Sr.’s latest incident continues a long list of offseason issues at least indirectly related to the Chiefs, ranging from Rashee Rice’s legal saga to the misdemeanor arrest of two other players to the two arrests and subsequent release of DT Isaiah Buggs.
