Brittany Mahomes knows it takes a village to raise a family, and she’s turning to hers with a plea for advice after her youngest, son Bronze, 20 months, accidentally “started a bad habit” while traveling through Europe earlier this month.

The mother of two-though soon to be three-called on her fellow “mamas” and “professionals” for help after she and her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have found themselves unable to break it, writing a lengthy explanation on her Instagram Story on the evening of Sunday, July 28.

…we started letting him watch TV when eating literally just to keep him chill and not throw fits in public,” she began, explaining that the toddler isn’t “the best eater and will fight it and throw huge huge huge fits when trying to make him eat.” With most of their meals enjoyed in public during their trip, they did what they could to avoid the tantrums, “let[ting] him watch TV” as they ate, which led him to “literally eat anything [they] gave him in silence…” Unfortunately, now that they’re home, they’re finding it difficult to break the habit. “…he legit will not eat a single thing unless he gets a show,” she shared, calling for everyone’s “secrets” to get him eating without having something streaming in front of him

Brittany quickly realized that she wasn’t alone, following up with another message sending “much love” to the rest of the “moms going through the same thing” before sharing screen recordings of some of the advice, which included suggestions that she let him keep the shows during mealtimes and “do what [she needs] to keep…sane” and “pick your battles,” while others offered more actionable advice, like going “cold turkey,” “chang[ing] the entertainment” to something else like flash cards or toy trucks, or putting something less entertaining on the TV, like the news. It’s not known which option the family will try first, but they certainly have plenty of options to navigate amid Patrick’s time at training camp. The two are also parents to 3-year-old daughter Sterling and are expecting another little girl later this year or early next.
