Now, Kelce is the subject of fan outrage for an entirely different reason.

Kelce was once again named to the “99 Club” for the upcoming “Madden 25” football game. Every player in a sports game is given a rating, which is an aggregate of a multitude of individual skill ratings that caps out at 99.

Only a handful of players earn their way into the “99 Club” with a 99 overall rating every year. Kelce has now been rated a 99 overall for the fifth time, which is the most ever by a tight end in the history of Madden football games.

Despite winning another Super Bowl with the Chiefs, many fans think Kelce’s individual play was not worthy of another high Madden rating.

The main criticism of Kelce’s high rating stems from the fact that he did not have the most receiving yards, receptions or receiving touchdowns among 2023 NFL tight ends. Many fans are questioning how Kelce can be rated as the best tight end in the game when other tight ends are outperforming him statistically.

Some fans are even claiming that EA Sports, the company behind the Madden games, is purposefully inflating Kelce’s rating to appeal to Taylor Swift fans.
