Chiefs eyeing a new weapon for Patrick Mahomes
It’s hard to be too critical with a team that is coming off back-to-back Super Bowl wins. For the second straight year, the Kansas City Chiefs own the final pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
But that doesn’t mean their roster in 2024 is void of holes.
Patrick Mahomes has a tendency to cover up weaknesses on the roster, but there’s still work to be done. Many fans aren’t satisfied by the play of the offensive tackles, but finding another weapon in the passing game for Mahomes feels like priority number one.
The addition of Marquise Brown helps, but he and Rashee Rice aren’t enough to make up for the deficiencies in the receiving corps. Justin Watson has combined for over 1 000 snaps in the past two seasons and he needs to see a reduced role. Meanwhile, it’s time to bite the bullet on the Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney experiments.
In the latest Chiefs mock draft roundup, draft experts seem to be united in pegging a play-making wide receiver to Kansas City in Round 1. One name in particular continues to be mocked to the Chiefs with the 32nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
