**FBI Investigates Chilling Burglaries at Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce’s Homes – The Shocking Truth see more…
The homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were both burglarized last month, and the feds and the local law enforcement are working together to investigate.
On Wednesday, Mahomes called the whole situation “frustrating” and “disappointing.”
Obviously it’s frustrating, disappointing,” Mahomes told reporters in advance of his team’s upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills, per NBC News. “I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing. But obviously it’s something that you don’t want to happen to, really anybody, but obviously yourself.”
I can’t speak too much about the details of everything, just with the investigation going on,” Mahomes added. “But I’m sure at some point that will be talked about.”
Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation told TMZ that the FBI is assisting the Cass County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the Mahomes incident and is teaming up with the Leawood Police Department for the Kelce case.
There were other break-ins in nearby neighborhoods, but it’s currently unclear if they’re all connected, or if the two Chiefs players were specifically targeted
The outlet also added that sources said the FBI would not get involved if this were a string of regular burglaries on a local level. Their involvement suggests that the case could involve organized crime crossing state lines.
This all stems from a call made to authorities just after midnight on Oct. 6. When police arrived at Mahomes’ Kansas City-area home, there were no signs of forced entry. The break-in was reported to police by a member of the Mahomes’ security team, according to The Kansas City Star.
It was unclear if anything was stolen, or who was at the home at the time.
Then, shortly after the Chiefs’ Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 7, Kelce’s Kansas City-area home was also reported to be broken into. The backdoor of the home was damaged and $20,000 in cash was stolen.
At the time of the incident, it was unclear if anyone else was at the home. Taylor Swift was in town to watch Kelce play in the game. After, the couple flew to New York to spend part of the next week together while the team was on a bye week.
Per The Star, Mahomes moved into the home with his wife, Brittany, and their children after purchasing it last year.
