“From Grid Iron to Slimline: Jason Kelce’s Unbelievable Post-Retirement Weight Loss Stuns Fans!”
Jason Kelce has been retired from the NFL since March, and the Eagles great has quickly shed some pounds from his massive frame.
The former offensive lineman, who played most of his career at 295 pounds, told GQ that he’s already down to 277 – though there’s a limit to how much he wants to lose.
‘Right now, I’m about 277,’ he said. ‘… It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.’
The 36-year-old dad of three (he shares three daughters with his wife Kylie) added, ‘I don’t want to get too small. I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size.
‘So for me, I feel like for some reason, 250 to 260 feels like I’ll be still big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit.’
Jason will now get to spend more time with his and Kylie’s daughters: four-year-old Wyatt, three-year-old Elliotte and one-year-old Bennett.
However, he’s not retiring from work completely as he’s joining ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew.
That role will of course keep him clear of the sorts of injuries he frequently suffered in the NFL.
Kelce twice had his knee reconstructed, broke toes and also underwent surgery on his hand and groin.
‘Everybody exits the league with some type of impediment,’ he told GQ.
‘So I’m leaving the game with those scars, but for all intents and purposes, I can play with my kids. I am still able to fully enjoy life, which I consider a blessing whether you played in the NFL or not.’
Jason and Kylie, who is 31, tied the knot on April 14, 2018.
They then had their eldest daughter, Wyatt, in October 2019, followed by Elliotte in March 2021 and Bennett in February 2023.
