In a bold and humorous move, the Raiders have taken a playful jab at Chiefs’ superstar Patrick Mahomes by deploying a Kermit the Frog puppet to mock him.

The Las Vegas Raiders have to be tired of seeing their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, stack up championships while they try to simply get to the NFL playoffs.

There’s no love lost between the Raiders and Chiefs, as the two sides have gone at each other on the field over the years. However, Las Vegas has been on the wrong end of those games more often than not, especially since Patrick Mahomes took over under center for Kansas City.

Mahomes has established himself as the best quarterback in the NFL after winning three championships in his career, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Making matters worse for the Raiders is the Chiefs replenished the receiving corps to give Mahomes even more weapons to throw to this upcoming season

While beating Kansas City is a tall task for Las Vegas, the latter still mocked the Chiefs star with a Kermit the Frog puppet at training camp via Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk:

“At the Raiders’ training camp practice Thursday, a fan brought a Kermit the Frog puppet that was wearing a Patrick Mahomes’ jersey and a wig to mock the quarterback’s hair. A video surfaced on social media of Raiders safety Trey Taylor putting on the puppet and saying, “I’m a bitch” to laughter in the background.

Someone in the background says, “I’m here! I’m here!,” referring to Mahomes’ trash talk directed toward Maxx Crosby during the Chiefs’ 30-29 win over the Raiders in 2022.

Mahomes’ voice jokingly has been compared to the Muppets character

Mahomes has been the butt of jokes for years now because of the raspiness of his voice, though he’s leaned into the gag at this point. However, to hear it coming from the Raiders must have irked him though he showed restraint when asked about it. The signal caller said that the situation would be dealt with at the appropriate time, strongly hinting that he’d take out any anger on Las Vegas on the field.

Poking the bear doesn’t seem like a wise choice for the Raiders, though they’ve shown they aren’t afraid of any player in the league

There have been several players in league history who have played for both the Raiders and Chiefs, though the most recognizable name is Marcus Allen. Allen recently offered his thoughts on the rivalry and admitted he had mixed emotions when he faced off against his former teammates.
