Alleged Hollywood sources have been coming out of the woodwork to spill the details of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s long-gestating divorce, with the latest claiming that Affleck’s decision to pursue a split is partially rooted in his sobriety.

While Affleck and Lopez have yet to file for divorce officially, rumors of their split have been persistent for months now as the couple has rarely been spotted together this summer. The couple also put their massive $68 million Los Angeles mansion up for sale.

Affleck and Lopez first dated in the early 2000s before splitting up and getting married to Jennifer Garner and Marc Anthony, respectively. Following their divorces and other flings, the pair reignited their romance in 2021 and got married in the summer of 2022 in Las Vegas. Sources have described the last two years as a “fever dream” that Affleck is now waking up from.

Despite their pending divorce, Affleck and Lopez still have professional ties as J-Lo’s new movie Unstoppable, which premieres at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) next month, was produced by Affleck’s company Artists Equity.
