The excitement is tangible as Taylor Swift prepares to touch down in the UK, with her upcoming arrival sending British fans into overdrive. The singer is performing five nights at Wembley Stadium between Thursday, August 15, and Tuesday, August 20.
However Swift’s final shows on mainland Europe were abruptly cancelled this week following a thwarted terror plot at Vienna’s Ernest Happel Stadium by police, leading to the arrest of two suspected extremists.
It led to fears regarding the potential cancellation of Swifts final European gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium. However, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan offered reassurances, telling Sky News: “We are a capital city, we are an international city, on a regular basis we host major events, whether it’s concerts Bruce Springsteen was most recently at Wembley Stadium we’re looking forward to welcoming Taylor Swift back
He continued: “The police work closely, not just with City Hall, but with councils, but also with those who host concerts, like the Taylor Swift concert coming up over the next couple of weeks. I’m sure Vienna has got its own reasons to cancel the Taylor Swift concerts, we’re going to carry on, working closely with police (and) ensuring that the Taylor Swift concerts can take place in London safely
For those holding out hope, there’s still a chance to catch her last shows on the Eras tour in Europe, as tickets remain up for grabs
The pop sensation will be gracing the stage of London’s iconic Wembley Stadium from August 15 to August 20, and there are still tickets up for grabs. When The Eras Tour tickets were launched in August 2023, they were snapped up almost immediately via official vendors such as Ticketmaster and AXS, leaving many fans out in the cold.
However, all is not lost for those hoping to see Taylor light up the stage – aside from the chance of securing official resale tickets through Ticketmaster, a number of online re-sale platforms are currently offering tickets for the star’s performances.
