The NFL Top 100 list recently dropped its full rankings and had Mahomes as the fourth-best player in the NFL, so he’s going to have to get creative if he wants to return to the top of the list next year, and it appears he has learned a new trick this offseason to help sway the voters.
A recent clip shared by KC Sports Network showed Mahomes messing around in training camp, playing dizzy bat blindfolded before throwing more perfect spirals straight into the net with the blindfold still on.
NFL training camps are long and tiresome, so it’s important to find ways to stay loose and have fun, which the Chiefs apparently do by playing a little dizzy bat.
Practicing blindfolded throws might help Mahomes make more of the patented no-look passes he has pulled off from time to time, so perhaps that was the motive behind this.
It felt like his receivers last year were catching passes blindfolded, so hopefully they didn’t participate in this drill.
It’s got to hurt other teams to see a defending champ doing things like this in practice and then tearing their hearts out Sunday after Sunday.
Maybe for his next trick, Mahomes will learn how to throw backward
