A close look at the black and white snap of Prince George in a dark blazer and pants with a white shirt also shows an unexpected accessory — a string bracelet reminiscent of the friendship bracelet trend among Swifties at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts.

Last month, for his 42nd birthday on June 21, Prince William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte, 9, to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London, where they had the chance to meet the superstar and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The royal family’s rare selfies with Swift, shared on Instagram, captured the children’s beaming smiles. A few weeks later, George and Charlotte were spotted wearing string bracelets.

Friendship bracelets (especially with beads) have had an explosive pop culture moment amid Swift’s global Eras Tour, inspired by a line about the DIY jewelry in the lyrics of a song on her 2022 album Midnights. On July 14, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were both spotted wearing string bracelets during individual sporty outings with their parents, Prince William and Princess Kate.
