RECORD BREAKING: Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is shattering records with mind-blowing nightly grosses.
It’s no surprise Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is an incredible success. It’s been months since the record-breaking tour became the first in history to make more than $1billion — and she’s got plenty more dates to play before the tour ends in December.
Now, fans have an idea just how much the Grammy Award winner is making from each show after Variety published its deep dive into the highest-grossing tour’s numbers.
According to the publication, Swift’s production could be raking in up to $17 million with each show, a staggering figure that doesn’t include revenue from massively inflated resale tickets
Variety reports: “One source close to the production said early in the ‘Eras Tour’ era that her average gross each night is $14 million. Others believe that is a highly conservative estimate, with a possible total that on at least some nights edges closer to $17 million.”
With fan fever at an all-time high, it’s not just Taylor Swift and her team who are benefiting from the phenomenon that is the Eras Tour. Previous estimates suggested Swift would bring in almost £1 billion to the UK economy with her string of shows here
Earlier this summer Swift played in venues across the UK, visiting Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and London. The singer’s shows included three sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium, where she’ll return to play five more shows in August.
She’s spent the summer touring Europe, ahead of her upcoming break at the end of the final UK dates. The tour resumes in Canada in November and plays until 8 December.
Demand for the shows has been unprecedented, with Live Nation chair Greg Maffei claiming “We could have filled 900 stadiums,” and thousands of fans flocking to each show just to listen from outside the stadium.
“Taylor-gating”, as it is known, saw an estimated 40,000 fans gather outside the Olympic Stadium in Munich, Germany, each night of Swift’s most recent shows. There, dedicated fans crowded a hill overlooking the stadium, creating a spectacle that took social media by storm.
