Travis Kelce is finding time to let loose while preparing for the upcoming NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs!
The tight end, 34, joked around with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, a running back on the Super Bowl-winning team, in photos and videos shared by a fan on Instagram on Saturday, July 27. The athletes are in the midst of training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.
Open practices began on Sunday, July 21. and will end on Thursday, Aug. 15, per the Chiefs’ official site. Select practices include autograph sessions with the team.
Kelce and Edwards-Helaire, 25, shared a handshake in one video as they walked up close to the camera wearing their training gear
That’s my friend Travis,” Edwards-Helaire said to the camera in another clip as he walked alongside Kelce.
“Hi, I’m his friend,” the New Heights podcast host responded the camera in a joking voice.
The fan’s Instagram post also included photos of Kelce on the field wearing a padded helmet and waving to onlookers standing off-camera
Kelce’s training camp sessions have come with extra fan attention, thanks to his romance with Taylor Swift. The couple officially went public with their relationship in the fall of 2023 when the pop star, 34, attended her first Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium, the team’s home field.
Nearly a year after rumors of his romance with the “So High School” singer began, Kelce is embracing the crowds of Swifties flocking to training camp.
As seen in video footage shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter) named Becky Hardin, he recently threw one of his practice gloves (which featured his team number, 87) to a young fan who was wearing a shirt that said, “My Red Era,” referencing Swift’s acclaimed fourth studio album.
“Travis saw my niece wearing a Taylor @Chiefs shirt, threw his glove, missed, pointed at her, and threw again. And I was completely unhinged and lost my mind,” Hardin wrote in the post.
Hardin also thanked Edwards-Helaire for his kindness in the same post.
“Clyde signed the boys stuff. @tkelce and @Clydro_22 the best thank you!! You made training camp so fun #ChiefsKingdom,” she added in her post.
