Travis Kelce’ retirement depends on this important factor
Travis Kelce will need to take care of one key factor if he wants to remain in the NFL for years to come.
That’s according to former Super Bowl-winning tight end Vernon Davis, who has been speaking about Kelce following the Kansas City Chiefs star’s decision to restructure his contract.
The Chiefs did a solid by Kelce, agreeing to restructure his contract, making him the highest-paid tight end. Kelce will earn more than $34 million over the next two years.
The 34-year-old was third among tight ends for receptions, but he ended the regular season way down in ninth when it came to touchdowns. He notably made key drops in the playoffs but battled through and showed his metal in the all-important Super Bowl.
With a newly structured mega contract, the question now is how long Kelce will play for, given he is already 34 years of age. Former tight end Vernon Davis has weighed in on that particular conversation.
“He’s good at taking care of his body. I think it all boils down to how well he takes care of his body and how effective he can be in them winning football games,” Davis told Fox News Digital.
