We still need you here (NFL): Travis Kelce Makes Waves at Super Bowl LX With Retirement Decision ….see more
It was unusual to watch a Super Bowl without Travis Kelce on the field, especially given how often the Kansas City Chiefs have played in 5 of the last 7 world championships. Super Bowl LX marked a rare exception, but Kelce still made his presence known throughout the weekend as he weighs whether to return for season 14 or step away from football.

Kelce attended Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, appearing on the field during the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award presentation.
Kelce was nominated for the award for the third time for the 2025 season. The honor, which recognizes a player for excellence on and off the field, went to Washington Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner. Kelce stood alongside Jarrett Payton, the son of the award’s namesake, as Wagner accepted the recognition.
On the eve of Super Bowl LX, Kelce attended SI The Party Presented by DraftKings at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, one of the most prominent events of Super Bowl weekend.
The invite-only party drew a large mix of athletes, entertainers, and media figures, highlighting the scale of Super Bowl celebrations beyond the game itself. Attendees included Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Kevin Hart, Travis Scott, J Balvin, Jon Hamm, Ciara, Russell Wilson, Sofía Vergara, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Quavo, MGK, Kane Brown, Becky G, Bill Burr, Michael Rubin, Madelyn Cline, Alix Earle, Livvy Dunne, and athletes such as Rob Gronkowski, Dwight Howard, Drew Brees, Tyreek Hill, Trevor Lawrence, Robert Griffin III, and Jameis Winston.
During the event, Kelce joined The Chainsmokers onstage for a singalong to Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” He later shared the stage briefly with Gronkowski and San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.
Earlier in the week, Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, hosted their second annual “New Heights” Super Bowl party on February 4 in San Francisco, near Levi’s Stadium.
Videos shared on the podcast’s Instagram Stories showed the setup for the event, including food provided by Raising Cane’s and appearances from friends and family. Footage also included Kelce posing with New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo.
During a recent episode of “New Heights,” Kelce addressed Skattebo’s season-ending injury.
“Nobody wants to see one of the most-loved players in the league get hurt like that,” Kelce said. “Obviously, what that guy’s meant to football over the past couple of weeks has been pretty (expletive) fun to watch.”
Kelce now faces a familiar offseason decision. One year ago, he returned after spending weeks considering his future following the Super Bowl.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Kelce and the Chiefs plan to reconnect after Super Bowl LX to determine whether he will return for another season. Kelce played out the final year of a two-year, $34.25 million extension in 2025 and would need a new contract to continue playing.

Kansas City is currently more than $50 million over the projected salary cap, though the team is expected to make adjustments in the coming weeks. Rapoport reported that the Chiefs want Kelce back and that clarity on his future is expected “sooner rather than later.”
Kelce added to the speculation on “New Heights” while discussing the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
“I can’t wait to see him back in the building, man,” Kelce said. “He’s one of my favorite coaches of all time.”
